Southeast Tourism Society Selects Holley National Hot Rod Reunion
ATLANTA, Ga. — Jan. 15, 2018 — Southeast Tourism Society has named the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum’s 17th Annual Holley National Hot Rod Reunionpresented by AAA Insurance one of the STS Top 20 Eventsin the Southeast for June 2019.
This year’s Holley National Hot Rod Reunion is June 13-15. The STS Top 20 Festival and Event Awards havehighlighted programs around the Southeast since 1985.
“The Holley National Hot Rod Reunion is one of Bowling Green’s signature car events,” said Sherry Murphy, executive director of the Bowling Green Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We love seeing those beautiful Hot Rods roll into historic Beech Bend Raceway Park, and we appreciate the NHRA’s continuing support of Bowling Green and what we offer.”
Travel industry experts select 20 events per month, and STS publicizes them throughout the United States. The complete list is published on two websites: Southeast Tourism Society and Travel Media Press Room.
“You can say we are in the heart of Hot Rodding here in Bowling Green, Ky.,” said Larry Fisher, executive director of the NHRA Motorsports Museum. “Every year, car enthusiasts from throughout the country and around the world gather for the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum’s Holley Hot Rod Reunion. The three-day event features ¼ mile nostalgia drag racing with original and recreated cars from the fifties, sixties, and seventies. There’s the Show N’ Shine Car Show, a Vintage Parts Swap Meet, specialty vendors, and much more.”
“The Reunion honors those who have made a life-long contribution to the sport and to hot rodding at a special celebration at Bowling Green’s own National Corvette Museum on Friday night,” Fisher continued. “And Saturday evening, the Reunion closes with a mass ignition of fire-breathing, Nitro-burning dragsters in a Reunion tradition called the Cacklefest. From hot rods to race cars,vintage cars to muscle cars, and even one-of-a-kind cars, they all gather at Beech Bend Raceway for a Reunion celebrating American hot rodding in a festival of speed and design.”
